Just a few snapshots of the things I love…
My boyfriend Grant
Isn’t he dashing! Hands down he is the most supportive, loving and kind person out there. PLUS, he is the most talented and dedicated filmmaker I know! We met over four and a half years ago at JB HI FI, where we used to work. I was 18 at the time and obsessed with Death Cab for Cutie, so it was only natural that I would wear my band t-shirt on my first day. He asked me whether I liked Death Cab or Postal Service better and from then I pretty much had an instant crush on him! We started going out six months later. I absolutely adore him!
Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book, vintage edition
I recently acquired my own copy of this vintage favourite. I love flicking through the pages, being drawn into the memories of my childhood birthday parties. I still love the Smartie covered number one cake, sometimes simple really is the best.
I got this from a little stall in Santee Alley on a trip to Los Angeles two years ago. I just love the elegance of it. I remember bartering with the stall owner to try and get the price down, though I don’t think I could have walked away without it. If only it was a real emerald. One day!
Grant and Chlo Bear
Grant Bear arrived on our first Valentines Day together. So much attention to detail went into him, he even has his own satchel bag with the cologne my boyfriend wears in it and a miniature version of a script. Definitely the next best thing to cuddle when I don’t have the real thing next to me. Chlo bear came along on my 21st birthday. She was packaged in true eighties style and came with accessories that I could wear. Sometimes I come home to the two of them getting up to mischief. The photo above shows them planning a holiday to Disney World.
Oh how I love this. I won’t let anyone put it in the dishwasher, let alone touch it for fear of it getting ruined or breaking. It is the best mug to have Milos in while remembering the good times of Disneyland 2009. It even lives in a special cupboard.
My girly bedspread
My boyfriend HATES this but what can you expect. I, on the other hand, absolutely adore it. I saw it in the window of Bed, Bath & Table a couple years ago and had to have it but could not afford it. I put it on layby and eventually paid it off. It brightens up my day every time I walk into my room.
The Princess and the Frog
This movie is original Disney! It has soul. I love the song “Almost There”, it’s so catchy and upliftng. Everytime I see it I really want to visit New Orleans and have a bowl of steaming Gumbo! Yum!
