Frankie is my favourite magazine of all times, it is so darn cool. But I feel our relationship is quite one-sided. They religiously send me an issue every two months which I read from cover to cover and display lovingly on my book stand – but I never give anything back. So for this week’s Try Something New Tuesday I decided to write a letter back to Frankie to say thanks. Here’s what it said…
Dearest Frankie, I just read “Perth is for Lovers” and feel compelled to extend my dearest thanks to you. People in Perth often feel like the forgotten middle child, we are forever waiting for our favourite bands, festivals and theatre shows to make their way West to see us. I admit that it has gotten better in recent years, but a lot of us still have a chip on our shoulders and fear being left behind. Not with you though, Frankie, you never forget us. You realise all that this little city has to offer and we love you for it. Thanks for loving us all equally. Love, Chloe.
It took me a good few minutes and about a dozen proof-reads before I was actually able to hit send, but when I did I felt giddy with excitement contemplating what they might think of my letter. It sure does feel good to give something back!
