I’ve had this little corner of the Internet called Paperbunnys for a little over two years now and I realised I haven’t posted a lot of blogs about me. Almost all of my blogs have a personal spin to them, but I haven’t done many get-to-know-me posts aside from this one back in 2011.
Most of you would already know me as a craft-oholic, baked-goods obsessed, Disney freak, but you are probably not aware that I am outrageously addicted to watching to TED talks, I find myself watching Star Trek more often than I’d like to admit or that I starred in a Japanese corn chip commercial when I was 16.
I’m part Russian, Dutch and Scottish. My Busia (great grandmother on the Russian side) used to tell me that we were related to Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova, the little girl who was the basis for the animated film Anastasia. I’m not sure I entirely I believe it, but I like the idea that I am related to Russian royalty.
Before working in marketing and communications I was a journalist at a local newspaper and particularly enjoyed writing the real-estate section of the paper. Way before that I studied music theatre, although you wouldn’t know it as I refuse to sing in public after a particularly scarring incident in front of my singing class.
I used to be afraid of space but that has completely changed since visiting the American Museum of Natural History in New York in 2011, now I love learning all about it.
At some stage in the future I would love to write a book, learn Spanish and overcome my fear of singing in public and join a singing group.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better!
