It’s funny how everything always seems to happen all at once. Life can cruise along for the longest of times and then BAM, crazy new things are happening everywhere.
First thing’s first, I GOT A NEW JOB!
I’m super excited if you can’t tell. The new J.O.B. is in the city, which means I can catch public transport, ride or even walk if I want to be a sweaty Betty before I start. I’ll be working in a much bigger marketing team than I am in my current job and there are many more opportunities to advance my career. The work culture is also a little more my style, I’ve already been invited to my first work function! Working in the city also means that I will be able to catch up with friends over lunch. I can tell this is all going to suit me very much!
Secondly, MY SISTER GOT ENGAGED!
Sorry boys, that pretty young thing is off the market! It happened when she and her beau were on holidays in America last month, how romantic! We’re all super excited to have another wedding on the horizon, I can’t wait to find out what they have in mind for the big day. It’s going to be beautiful, that’s for sure! HOORAY FOR LOVE!
Finally, I’VE BEEN VOLUNTEERING FOR TEDxPerth!
Remember my love of TED? Well I’ve had the amazing opportunity over the past two months to be the online editor for TEDxPerth. It’s been such an amazing experience, I get to meet and work with super inspiring people and it makes me feel good! Giving back to the community is good ya’ll! The big event is on October 26, so we’ve all been busy little bees and we will continue to be for the next month or so.
Other things going on at the moment:
- My man is working on a really awesome feature film here in Perth starring Simon Pegg (AMAZING), it’s called Kill Me Three Times! He’s in the depths of production right now and has been away for the past two weeks, looking forward to his return tomorrow. So proud of him!
- I’ve started working on the Sassy Librarian Blouse from Craftsy – we’ll see how I go. So far most of my forays into sewing my own clothes have ended in pricked fingers and feet stomping.
- We’re going through the process of getting pre-approval for a home loan – I really don’t miss house hunting, but at least if we get this step out of the way it shouldn’t be too bad. Our lease is up in April so we have time.
Busy times, but I am loving it. They say change is as good as a holiday and we haven’t got another one of those planned for a while so I am going to enjoy this time!
