Housewarming – Living Area

February 9, 2014

I’m so excited to kick off Housewarming, a new blog series to celebrate Grant and I purchasing our first home together. In my opinion the most important room in the house is the living area, so what better place is there to begin?

Being big film and TV buffs (Grant more so than me) when we are at home we like to spend a lot of time in the living area. Seeing as we have been renting for a year and a half we already have the basics to create a comfortable living room, but over the coming months we will begin to replace some of our existing furniture and include a few more soft furnishings. We cannot wait to get started!

Here are some living rooms which have been inspiring us lately:

Lots of pillows and throws are a must, comfort is our number one priority. (image)

I love the monochrome theme and layering of this living room. (image)

Below I have put together an inspiration collage of some items on our wish list. We love the mid-century vibe and geometric patterns. To make it a little more personal we’d like to hang movie posters and incorporate some of our favourite things (aka penguins).
