Adventures in Gardening

photo-3-2You guys…I gardened! Can you believe it? Miss kills-anything-in-sight gardened, and so far she hasn’t killed anything but weeds. This is an amazing victory.

A few weekends back, while my man was in Cannes (because he is an amazing commercial director who gets shortlisted for prestigious awards in far-flung places), I went on a trip to the local hardware store and bought myself some gardening supplies. I even had a hot dog while I was there. It was a pretty fun expedition! While I was there I spotted some adorable baby succulents and cacti and I could not help myself. They were so pretty and teeny and I just had to have them in my life, so I bought some without knowing what I was going to do with them.

When I got back home it was clear that my house needed some greenery inside so I made a mini succulent and cacti garden, inspired by those crafty gals over at A Beautiful Mess. It was a super fun and easy DIY (my favourite kind) and it has been sitting on my kitchen windowsill for almost two months still looking as lovely as ever!

photo-5-2How cute is my little watering can! It was a non-essential item, but it makes watering the plants so much more fun.

photo-4-2photo-6-2I also bought some baby freckle face plants – so pretty!

photo-7-2I wish I had a before photo of the garden, there were so many weeds and loads of moss growing between the pavers, I tidied her up real good! It feels good doing handiwork, I’m looking forward to my next adventures in gardening.

Aren’t they great! They don’t seem too hard to take care off which is a big plus. 🙂
