Crafty Catchup

October 1, 2014

I was reading an issue of Mollie Makes a while back and came across an article about the different types of crafters. They had them broken down into the hoarder, the easily distracted and the multi-crafter. My cupboards and craft room (the boy likes to refer to this as our “office”) would both agree that I am a combination of all three.

On my trips to Spotlight I always start out with the best intentions, with one project in mind, but before I know it I have been inspired to craft up at least four entirely different creations. It could be a new scarf, embroidery, a beaded necklace or a dress. I think this is just the nature of it. One project inspires the next, which inspires the next. This is what crafting is all about.

My Pinterest boards are also overflowing with ideas and inspiration for what seems like a million projects. Rather than letting these ideas get lost in the depths of my obsessional pinning I thought it might be a good idea to pull some of them together in a Crafty Catchup. Maybe some of you will be inspired to start something new (and get side-tracked during your supplies trip to the craft store).

This adorable ice cream cone elbow patch DIY has me inspired to restyle some of my old winter jumpers and cardigans. I might have to put this one on the back-burner though, seeing as we are heading into the warmer months.

I love the festivity of this wall hanging, it would be perfect for a summer party or a wedding.

These concrete candle holders are encouraging me to step outside the box and try using some different materials. The idea of using concrete scares me a little, but I would be willing to give it a shot – outside at least!

I have always been addicted to colour, these wool felt ball coasters would brighten up my dining table quite nicely, plus the teeny tiny felt balls are adorable.

Just like the changes in seasons, there’s nothing better than a few crafty projects to brighten the mood and inspire new ideas. Enjoy!
