We were super lucky at the end of last year to take a two-week trip to Lombok and Bali in Indonesia. Seeing as G popped the question two days prior it turned out to be a bit of an engagement-moon! Here are some happy snaps from our time away:
We scored some rooms with amazing views while we were away, this view from our balcony at Quinci Villas in Senggigi Lombok had us off to a great start.
On our last day at Quinci we had breakfast overlooking the Bali Sea and Mt. Agung.
While it wasn’t the lap of luxury, Gili Trawangan had a really cute ocean front strip which we cycled daily.
A love jetty, it was our engagement-moon after all!
Although we never visited any of the Gilis other than Trawangan, we enjoyed the view of Gili Meno and Gili Air.
There was no motorised transport on the island so you either walk, ride or take a cidomo (horse and cart). I was very happy to see the hard-working horses being treated to a bath in the ocean.
Just the view from a massage hut, nothing special!
We left the island a little earlier than expected as we had seen and done everything we were interested in, here’s one last happy snap before we boarded the boat back to Lombok to catch a flight to Bali.
G waiting for his breakfast at Grocer and Grind in Seminyak, one of our favourite places while we were there.
A cute little Mexican-inspired street-scape in Seminyak.
Another glorious sunset from The Seminyak Beach Resort. We splurged on our room, but it was definitely worth it seeing as we were celebrating Grant’s 30th while we were there.
Nine days into our trip we made our way to Ubud, which was by far the highlight. This was the view from our suite at the Komaneka at Bisma.
My hunky fiancé taking a break from the humid streets of Ubud at Starbucks.
The amazing award-winning pool at The Hanging Gardens, Ubud. G spoiled me with an incredible spa package while we were there, I’m still daydreaming about it.
We took a ride on a funicular, which was super fun!
The forest surrounding The Hanging Gardens was something out of Jurassic Park. G was pretty terrified of this ginormous leaf.
Our pool at Komaneka was pretty special as well.
G coaxed me into going to the Sacred Monkey Forest while we were in Ubud and I am so glad he did because the monkey’s were so cute. Also, I didn’t get rabies!
Taking it all in at the Sacred Monkey Forest.
The view from the plane as we headed back to our sunburned country.
Now to plan the next holiday!
