Wedding 101: Setting the date

January 20, 2015

So far, setting the date of our wedding has been the most difficult part of the planning process. G and I are not huge fans of summer and we definitely don’t want to be sweating as we say our “I do’s” (aside from the clammy hands that might come from having everyone staring at us). We’re also not huge fans of waiting, especially me after it took 7.5 years for him to put a ring on it. Basically that leaves us with October – which is in just over eight months.

Eight months to plan a wedding! Everyone probably thinks we are crazy (or pregnant) but we really want to get married soon so who cares! We’re both pretty creative people who are driven by tight deadlines so I think it can be done. We’re in the process of locking down a venue in the next week or so, we have our heart set on one place in particular which isn’t your usual wedding venue so we are hoping that might help. I can’t wait to have it all booked in, then it will actually feel real and we can start nailing down our theme!

For now, here are some amazing weddings I’ve been lusting over of late:

Well, this lovely event is not actually a wedding, but it could be!

I love the industrial vibe of this wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes

I love the casual vibe going on at this wedding, everyone looks like they’re having a good time.

Gotta love (another) industrial venue – this time it’s in Sydney!

That drapery, they must have had some very handy (and tall) assistants at this wedding.

Hi Chloe, some of those pics remind me of the Moores building in Freo-Henry St!!

They are quite similar aren’t they! We do love the Moore’s building, but unfortunately you can’t hire the gallery space for weddings. Oh well!
